Otuo Serebour Opoku-Ware

A Graduate Civil Engineer based in Accra, Ghana, and the Valedictorian of the College of Engineering, KNUST (Class of 2025). He is recognized for outstanding academic excellence, leadership, and a strong technical foundation in structural engineering.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he graduated among the top three students university-wide. His academic achievements include multiple honors as the Best Civil Engineering Student and Most Academically Outstanding Student of KNUST.

Otuo currently works as a Graduate Structural Engineer at DNARDA-AF, supporting engineering design, performing structural calculations, preparing technical documentation, and participating in site inspections. Alongside professional practice, he serves as a Research and Teaching Assistant at KNUST, assisting in structural engineering courses and contributing to research on the application of machine learning in seismic design—a role that allows him to bridge theory, research, and real-world engineering practice.

His practical experience includes internships with consulting and construction firms, where he participated in site supervision, quantity take-offs, reinforcement inspections, concrete works, surveying, and coordination with engineers and craftsmen. These experiences have given him a strong appreciation for constructability, design implementation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Otuo’s technical interests lie at the intersection of structural dynamics, seismic resilience, earthquake engineering, and computational modeling. He is particularly interested in how data-driven and computational approaches can enhance structural performance under extreme loading conditions and in resource-constrained environments. His skill set includes structural analysis, BIM workflows using Autodesk Revit, construction management, and data forecasting tools.
